Prepare Shopify for Coveo

Before you begin, ensure that you can add products, configure markets, and install apps in your Shopify store.

Your Shopify product list must contain at least one product before you can sync your catalog with Coveo.

Coveo uses your Shopify markets to determine which localized product content to index. Each market that you want to use with Coveo must have an assigned language and base currency.

Shopify creates a domestic market when you create a store. You can use this market or create another one that represents the customers and regions you want to serve.

If a market supports multiple languages, assign a unique URL to each language. Coveo uses each market and language combination to create a separate source. Without a unique URL for a language, Coveo can’t create the corresponding source.

For example, a Canadian market available in English and French could use the following URLs:

Install the Coveo AI Search & Discovery app in your Shopify store.

After installation, the app displays only the Welcome page until you link it to a Coveo organization.

Once your Shopify store meets these requirements, link the app to your Coveo organization and continue the setup process.
