Source key characteristics

Sitecore sources are automatically created and updated when using the Coveo for Sitecore package indexing features (see Installation Guide). Only manage Sitecore sources from Sitecore itself.

Sitecore sources are designed for content from the Sitecore XP and XM products. Don’t use a Sitecore source for Sitecore XC content (see Compatibility With Sitecore Commerce).

Members with the required privileges may only edit Sitecore JSON source configurations in the Coveo Administration Console on rare occasions following Coveo Support indications (see Edit a source JSON configuration).

Leading practice

The number of items that a source processes per hour (crawling speed) depends on various factors, such as network bandwidth and source configuration. See About crawling speed for information on what can impact crawling speed, as well as possible solutions.
