Authentication Methods

The Coveo REST Search API supports several different ways to authenticate callers:

  • API Key Authentication is the most basic way to authenticate callers (see API Key Authentication).

  • Search Token Authentication implies creating special, expiring tokens which can temporarily grant user-specific privileges (see Search Token Authentication).

  • Claims Authentication allows users to access content indexed from a SharePoint server (see Claims Authentication).

  • SAML Authentication is a standard XML-based protocol that many Single Sign-On (SSO) systems use (see SAML Authentication).
