Opening the Experience Explorer Sets the Static Context to 'Master'
Symptoms
When you open a Sitecore website page in your browser, you notice that Coveo for Sitecore components are pointing to a master
item and database.
You have published a Coveo-Powered Search Page. When you browse this page, you see that the filter applied is syssource=="coveo_master_index"
, instead of the web index.
Cause
From Sitecore version 8.0 onwards, if you open an item in the Experience Editor, the static context is changed to the one you’re exploring - i.e., master
. So if anyone subsequently loads that page, the context will be master
.
Resolution
Ensure no administrator has an open Experience Explorer session. A few minutes after all sessions have been closed, the context should be switched back to the web
index.
