Archived content
Archived content
Towards the end of the product documentation life-cycle, a documentation set can be archived while still remaining publicly available. The documentation set for a legacy or deprecated product is typically archived when the documentation is no longer updated. The set of pages is then only available as:
-
One PDF file, and optionally as a downloadable HTML zip.
OR
-
HTML pages still served on this site. These pages are excluded from search results by default, but can be found by enabling the Include older components toggle on the search page. You can also navigate to archived content using the left side table of contents and hyperlinks within the pages.
Browse the archived content by category to find the documentation you need.
Using an HTML archive
Some archived documentation sets include an HTML zip file that contains HTML pages corresponding to the archived content of a legacy product.
If you’re still using the legacy Coveo product, you can browse this documentation by downloading and installing the HTML archive locally.
-
Access the archived content page for the product you need.
-
When the page includes an HTML archive:
-
Click Download HTML Zip.
-
Note the
HTML zip home page filename provided in the table at the bottom of the page.
-
-
Unzip the downloaded file to a location of your choice.
-
With a browser, open the
HTML zip home page fileto access the archive content. You can install the HTML archive on an internal web server to make the archive content available to your team.
In this case:
-
Use the
HTML zip home page fileas the website home page. -
You can create a Coveo source to index the archive content.
