Ranking rules for product listing pages
Ranking rules for product listing pages
In the Coveo Merchandising Hub (CMH), merchandisers can define ranking rules to influence the order in which products are displayed on product listing pages (PLPs).
Product listing ranking rules are used to boost or bury specific products based on specific conditions. They can also be used to pin products in specific positions on a PLP. For example, a merchandiser can create a ranking rule to boost the ranking of products that are on sale, or to bury products that are out of stock.
Ranking rules can apply to all PLPs or to one or more specific PLPs. They can also be scheduled for a specific time, letting merchandisers plan and execute their strategies more effectively.

Note
Scheduling isn’t available for Pin rules. |

Use case examples
Listings ranking rules can be used to address a variety of use cases. Here are a few examples:
-
Boost promoted products: Raise the ranking of products that are part of a specific promotion.
-
Enforce a specific order: Pin products to the top of a PLP to enforce a specific order.
-
Bury out-of-season products: Lower the ranking of products that aren’t currently in season.
-
Highlight new arrivals: Increase the visibility of newly added products to the inventory.
-
Boost high stock products: Promote products that have a high inventory to encourage sales.
