Upgrading the Coveo for Salesforce application
Upgrading the Coveo for Salesforce application
As a Salesforce administrator, you can upgrade your Coveo for Salesforce application to benefit from the latest features and bug fixes, among other things. Before upgrading your Coveo for Salesforce package, you may want to consider following leading practices (see Upgrade Packages).
To upgrade the Coveo for Salesforce application, follow these steps:
-
Ensure that there’s an upgrade available for your current version of Coveo for Salesforce:
-
Identify your Coveo for Salesforce version (see Identify your Coveo for Salesforce version).
Take note of the version for future reference.
-
Verify that your current version is older than the most recent release of Coveo for Salesforce (see Coveo for Salesforce: Release Notes).
-
-
Consider upgrading in your Sandbox first to ensure that none of your customizations are affected by the upgrade.
Take note of the version you’re upgrading to. You can find it on the AppExchange in the Details tab.
-
Follow the normal Coveo for Salesforce installation procedure (see Install the Coveo for Salesforce application).
You usually don’t need to re-provision your Salesforce instance.
-
Review the Coveo for Salesforce and the JavaScript Search release notes (see Coveo for Salesforce: Release Notes and JavaScript Search V1: Release Notes).
-
Ensure that your code customizations don’t include parameters that were deprecated. If they do, adapt your code accordingly.
-
When you had first upgraded in a sandbox organization, ensure that the Coveo for Salesforce package you install in your production environment is the same as the one you tested in your sandbox organization.
If they differ, get the appropriate link from the release notes of that release (see Coveo for Salesforce: Release Notes).
