Rename dimension and metric labels

You can rename metric and dimension labels in cards to make their names self-explanatory. This feature is particularly useful when your report shows general concepts such as Custom Event Count and Custom Event Value. Without knowing the filters that determine those metric or dimension values, those values could be difficult to interpret.

Access a report in Edit Mode

  1. On the Reports (platform-ca | platform-eu | platform-au) page, click the desired report, and then click Open in the Action bar.

  2. Click Edit in the upper-right corner.

Important

Changes that you made prior to accessing Edit mode are kept. Therefore, you must remove these changes (if unwanted) before saving the report.

Rename dimension and metric labels

  1. Access a report in Edit Mode.

  2. On the report page:

    1. In a time series header or in a numerical metric box, click a dimension or metric label, and then modify its original name.

      Note

      You can also rename labels in the explorer mode.

    2. Click Save in the upper-right corner.

Required privileges

The following table indicates the required privileges to view and edit dashboards from the Reports (platform-ca | platform-eu | platform-au) page and associated panels (see Manage privileges and Privilege reference).

Access to dashboards or part of their content may be further restricted as a function of the member (see Manage access to reports and Manage permission filters).
