This article presents index item storage and recommendation limits associated with the various Coveo license types, and Coveo for Self-Service and Coveo for Contact Centers editions.

Storage

The storage allocation for a Coveo customer is limited to a certain number of items per production organization. An item is an element of content in the Coveo index such as a document, an email, an HTML page, or a database record.

Each customer is allocated items based on the queries per month (QPM) or users specified in the purchase order and information in the following table. Coveo’s QPM estimates are based on the information shared by customers, depending on the use case and the customer’s search page’s current traffic.

Note

Customers onboarding with Coveo after October 1, 2022, who exceed their item limit will be allowed a limited overage, then blocked from indexing new content or refreshing their index content unless they purchase additional items from Coveo or delete content from their index. Purchasing additional items is only available for the Pro and Enterprise editions.

1. The Self-Services entitlements also apply to Coveo for Zendesk.
2. The Contact Centers entitlements also apply to Coveo for Zendesk.
3. The Contact Centers - Pro edition is fixed to 500 K items regardless of the number of users.
4. For a greater allocation, contact Coveo Sales to upgrade to the Enterprise edition.

Example

You have two Coveo solution licenses for which item allocations are cumulative:

  1. Self-Service - Enterprise edition with 1 M QPM item allocation: 100 K items/100 K QPM * 1 M QPM = 1 M items

  2. Contact Centers - Enterprise edition with 1,000 users item allocation: 20 K items/user * 1,000 users = 20 M items

The total item allocation is 21 M items.

Recommendations

The Coveo Machine Learning (Coveo ML) Content Recommendations (CR) feature presents a user with most relevant content consulted by other users with a similar navigation history (see About Content Recommendations).

Each Coveo customer is allocated a limited number of recommendation queries (expressed in recommendations per month (RPM)) per production organization based on the purchase order and information in the following table.

Example

You have two Coveo licenses for which recommendation allocations are cumulative:

  1. Self-Service - Enterprise edition with 1 M QPM
    Recommendation allocation: 300 K RPM/100 K QPM * 1 M QPM = 3 M RPM

  2. Contact Centers - Enterprise edition with 1,000 users
    Recommendation allocation: 3 K RPM/user * 1,000 users = 3 M RPM

The total allocation is 6 M RPM.
