A refresh is a source update type that fetches an incremental update directly from an indexed system, and forwards the new/updated content to the document processing manager (see Refresh VS Rescan VS Rebuild). Some source types don’t support refresh, while others have refresh limitations. This source update type consumes less resources than a rescan or rebuild, and can be scheduled or performed manually.

Refresh can also be used as a verb, in which case it means to perform a refresh.
