Deploying Coveo for Microsoft Dynamics 365

Once you have prepared your Dynamics instance for a Coveo for Microsoft Dynamics 365 installation you must add Coveo for Microsoft Dynamics 365 to your Office 365 Dynamics Admin Center (see Installing Coveo for Microsoft Dynamics 365). You can then deploy the solution to the Dynamics 365 organizations in which you want to deploy Coveo for Microsoft Dynamics 365. This page explains how to get Coveo for Microsoft Dynamics 365 from the Microsoft AppSource and how you deploy it in your Dynamics 365 instance.

  • Ensure that your browser does not block popup windows as this may hinder the deployment process.
  • You must be a system administrator to access the Admin Center and deploy the solution.

Step 1 - Getting Coveo for Microsoft Dynamics 365 from the AppSource

Get Coveo for Microsoft Dynamics 365 from the Microsoft AppSource.

AppSource

  1. Log in to your Dynamics 365 instance with System Administrator credentials.
  2. Navigate to Settings > Customization > Solutions.
  3. Open another browser tab, and then go to appsource.microsoft.com.
  4. On the Microsoft AppSource webpage, in the Search Microsoft AppSource box, type Coveo for Dynamics 365.
  5. In the search results, click Coveo for Dynamics 365.
  6. In the Coveo for Dynamics 365 page, click Free Trial.
  7. Check the box to give Microsoft permission to use or share your account information, and then click Continue.

  8. In the page that opens, on the right, in the Connect to Dynamics 365 box, select the Dynamics 365 organization in which you want to deploy Coveo for Microsoft Dynamics 365.

  9. Check both boxes to agree to Microsoft’s Legal Terms and Privacy Statement and to agree to Coveo’s Customer Agreement and Privacy Policy (see Customer Agreement and Privacy Policy).
  10. Click Agree.

Coveo for Microsoft Dynamics 365 is now available to deploy in your Dynamics 365 instance.

Step 2 - Deploying Coveo for Microsoft Dynamics 365

  1. In the Dynamics 365 Administration Center, go to your Dynamics instance list.
  2. In the instance list on the left, select the instance in which you want to deploy Coveo for Microsoft Dynamics 365.
  3. In the right panel, click the Edit icon icon beside Solutions.

  4. In your solutions list, select Coveo Search for Microsoft Dynamics CRM.
  5. In the right panel, click Install.

  6. Read the agreement, and then click Install.
  7. You can close the tab/window.

After a few minutes, Coveo for Microsoft Dynamics 365 should appear on the Solutions page of your Dynamics 365 instance.

Now that you deployed Coveo for Microsoft Dynamics 365 in your Dynamics 365 organization, you can link your Coveo for Microsoft Dynamics 365 instance to a Coveo Cloud organization.

A source is a subdivision created in the Coveo Index to house the data coming from specific repositories such as Microsoft Dynamics 365, Sitecore, Jira Software, and many more (see What Is Coveo for Microsoft Dynamics 365? and Available Connectors). You can specify individual parameters for each source, including refreshing rates and security. You can manage all Microsoft Dynamics 365 sources directly from Coveo for Microsoft Dynamics 365 in your Dynamics 365 solutions. You need to log in to the Coveo Cloud administration console to manage sources based on other connectors (see Administration Console).

  1. If not already there, access the Coveo for Microsoft Dynamics 365 configuration interface (see About the Configuration Interface).
  2. In the Connect to Coveo Cloud window, click Connect to Coveo Cloud.
  3. In the Log into Coveo Cloud window, click Log in with Office 365.
  4. Click Authorize to allow access to your Coveo Cloud organizations.
  5. In the Select a Coveo Cloud Organization panel:
    • If you do not have a Coveo Cloud organization:
      1. Click Create a Trial Organization.
      2. Enter a name for your organization.
      3. Click Create.
    • If you already have a Coveo Cloud organization:
      1. Click Select an Existing Organization.
      2. If you have more than one organization linked to your Office 365 account, choose the one you want to use.
      3. Click Next.

      The linking process can take a minute or two. Please wait until Coveo for Microsoft Dynamics 365 initializes.

Coveo for Microsoft Dynamics 365 is now deployed and ready to use.
