In a Coveo JavaScript Search interface, an HTML search result template is made of rows and cells into which you can drag-and-drop components (see HTML Result Template). You can use the Interface Editor to easily add, delete, or customize the rows and cells of a search result template grid.

To modify a search result template grid

  1. In the JavaScript Search Interface Editor, select the template that you want to modify (see Choosing the JavaScript Search Result Template to Modify With the Legacy Interface Editor).

  2. Perform any of the following actions:

    • Add a cell

      • Hover and click the plus (+) icon on the vertical grid line beside which you want to add a cell.

        TemplateEditorAddCell1

A cell appears and is selected.

        TemplateEditorAddCell2

    • Customizing a cell

      1. Select the cell to customize by clicking it.

        TemplateEditorCustomizeCell1

      2. In the Interface Editor HTMLDIVElement ResultCell page, use the available parameters to change the cell size and how text and components appear in the cell.

    • Deleting a cell

      1. Select the cell by clicking in it.

      2. In the Interface Editor HTMLDIVElement ResultCell page, click Delete, and then Sure?.

    • Add a row

      1. Hover the plus (+) icon on the horizontal grid line below which you want to add a row.

        TemplateEditorAddRow1

      2. Click the thickened line.

        TemplateEditorAddRow2

A one-cell row appears and is selected.

    • Move a row

You cannot directly move an existing row. You must rather:

      1. Add a similar row and its cells where you want to move the row.

      2. Drag-and-drop each component from the original row to the new row.

      3. Delete the original row.

    • Delete a row

Select and delete each cell in the row (see Deleting a cell).
