# Facet engagement
{doctitle} is a [metric](https://docs.coveo.com/en/263/) that measures how often [visitors](https://docs.coveo.com/en/nbub9475/) interact with [facets](https://docs.coveo.com/en/198/) on [product listing pages](https://docs.coveo.com/en/m1sf3187/) or search results pages.

It's calculated by dividing the number of times a facet's values are selected by the number of times the page or search query is viewed.
