# Session
A [Coveo Platform](https://docs.coveo.com/en/186/) {doctitle} is the period of time during which a user is logged in to the [Coveo Platform](https://docs.coveo.com/en/186/).
By default, a session is valid for four hours.
[Coveo Platform](https://docs.coveo.com/en/186/) sessions don't expire due to inactivity.
