# Locale

A {doctitle} is a three-part identifier that combines the values of the `language`, `country`, and `currency` parameters sent in [Commerce API](https://docs.coveo.com/en/103/) requests.
For example, a US storefront in English with prices in US dollars would have the locale `en-US-USD`.

Locales are used to manage [product discovery solutions](https://docs.coveo.com/en/o9cf0524/) for each language, country, and currency permutation within the [Coveo Merchandising Hub (CMH)](https://docs.coveo.com/en/o5290573/).
Merchandisers can use them to create merchandising rules that only apply to specific locales.
