# Install the latest release
This section describes how to install the latest release of Coveo for Sitecore 5.

> **Important**
>
> * The steps below pertain to upgrade scenarios 2 and 3 in the [Coveo for Sitecore 4 to Coveo for Sitecore 5 upgrade procedure](https://docs.coveo.com/en/2642#identify-your-upgrade-scenario) article and assume that you have performed all prior steps in your upgrade scenario.
> 
> * Ensure that the Microsoft MVC security update [MS14-059](https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/security-updates/SecurityBulletins/2014/ms14-059) is installed on every Sitecore host in your environment.

. Download the [latest `Coveo for Sitecore` (and, if applicable, the `SXA UI components` package)](https://docs.coveo.com/en/2274/) for the version of Sitecore you're using.

> **Note**
>
> If necessary, refer to the [SXA Compatibility Tables](https://support.sitecore.com/kb?id=kb_article_view&sysparm_article=KB0180187) to determine the proper SXA version for your version of Sitecore.

. Log in to the Sitecore Desktop.
. Access the Installation Wizard (**Sitecore Start Menu** > **Development Tools** > **Installation Wizard**).
. Install the `Coveo for Sitecore` package.
. When prompted to overwrite files, click **Yes to all**.
. When prompted to overwrite items, select **Overwrite**, then click **Apply to all**.

> **Note**
>
> You might be prompted twice with this question.
> Select the **Overwrite** option and click **Apply to all** both times.

> **Important**
>
> On Sitecore instances with SXA, Sitecore SXA might throw errors at this point (see [Sitecore SXA throws errors when upgrading from Coveo for Sitecore 4.1 to Coveo for Sitecore 5](https://docs.coveo.com/en/2675/)).

. If you're using SXA, upload and install the Coveo `SXA UI components` package.

. Once the installation is complete, make sure that you restart both the Sitecore client and server.
