# Catalog source
A {doctitle} is an [index](https://docs.coveo.com/en/204/) container that holds [catalog object](https://docs.coveo.com/en/ncig0154/) [items](https://docs.coveo.com/en/210/).
These items are pushed to the source by sending [catalog data](https://docs.coveo.com/en/obcf0333/) through the Stream API.
Most Catalog sources contain products, variants, stores, or entitlement information.
