# Index Adobe Experience Manager content
Indexing content is the first step in any [Coveo Platform](https://docs.coveo.com/en/186/)-powered search and relevance solution implementation.
During indexing, your Adobe Experience Manager website pages and assets are translated into Coveo [items](https://docs.coveo.com/en/210/) that are stored in a [source](https://docs.coveo.com/en/246/) inside your [Coveo organization](https://docs.coveo.com/en/185/).

Indexing, however, is more than just collecting all of your content.
