Making a Search Page Available in Dynamics

In December 2020, the Coveo for Microsoft Dynamics 365 integration will reach its end-of-life and will no longer be supported by Coveo. See Coveo for Microsoft Dynamics 365 End-of-Life for details.

Microsoft Dynamics 365 8.2 The following content applies to versions of Microsoft Dynamics 365 8.2 and lower. If you’re using Microsoft Dynamics 365 9.0, Coveo is automatically added alongside default CRM search pages.

The default Dynamics Coveo-powered search page is available as a resource in your Dynamics organization. You need to add the search page to the sitemap to make it available to end users in the interface.

You can add the search page either to the default sitemap or you can add it to your own Dynamics 365 apps.

  1. Log in your Dynamics 365 organization as a System Administrator.

  2. Access the Coveo-Powered Search Page web resource coveo_searchPage (see Accessing the Sample Coveo-Powered Search Page Web Resource).

  3. Copy the web resource link.

  4. Review the documentation the Microsoft Help & Training to learn how to modify the sitemap (see Create a site map for an app).

    1. To add a search page to a specific app, read the section Create a site map for a custom app.

    2. To add a search page to the default site map, read the section Edit the default site map (Dynamics 365 - custom app).

  5. Add a subarea in an existing area and paste the link of the Search Page in the URL field.

You can create a new area called Coveo Search so it’s easier to find in the site map instead of putting it in an existing area.

  6. Repeat steps 2 to 5 for each app in which you want to include the search page.

  7. Click Save, and then click Publish to publish your changes. Alternatively, if you don’t want to publish your changes immediately, click Save and Close.
