# Source filter
In the context of a [source](https://docs.coveo.com/en/246/) (for example, a Web source), a {doctitle} is an expression which identifies a [repository](https://docs.coveo.com/en/2739/) subsection for which content is included or excluded from the [index](https://docs.coveo.com/en/204/).

There are three other types of [filters](https://docs.coveo.com/en/2736/) types: [search result filters](https://docs.coveo.com/en/2740/), [named filters](https://docs.coveo.com/en/264/), and [permission filters](https://docs.coveo.com/en/265/).
