# Visit
A
{doctitle} is a set of user actions on one or more user interfaces (such as search pages or sites) over a period of time.
The {doctitle} remains active until there has been 30 minutes of inactivity.
It also persists when the [visitor](https://docs.coveo.com/en/nbub9475/) switches from an authenticated to an anonymous state, or vice versa.

Each new {doctitle} generates a unique [visit ID](https://docs.coveo.com/en/272/).
It's associated with a particular [user name](https://docs.coveo.com/en/269/) and stored in a [Coveo organization](https://docs.coveo.com/en/185/).
