# Permission filter
A [Coveo Analytics](https://docs.coveo.com/en/182/) {doctitle} is a pre-defined filter that restricts what [data](https://docs.coveo.com/en/259/) is visible by whom in [reports](https://docs.coveo.com/en/266/).

Don't confuse this filter with the [named filter](https://docs.coveo.com/en/264/).
