# Opening the Experience Explorer sets the static context to 'master'
## Symptoms

When you open a Sitecore website page in your browser, you notice that Coveo for Sitecore components are pointing to a `master` item and database.

**Example**

You've published a Coveo-powered search page.
When you browse this page, you see that the filter applied is `source=="coveo_master_index"`, instead of the web index.

## Cause

From Sitecore version 8.0 onwards, if you open an item in the Experience Editor, the static context is changed to the one you're exploring - that is, `master`.
So if anyone subsequently loads that page, the context will be `master`.

## Resolution

Ensure no administrator has an open Experience Explorer session.
A few minutes after all sessions have been closed, the context should be switched back to the `web` index.
