# Privilege
A {doctitle} is an [ability](https://docs.coveo.com/en/2817/) applied to a [Coveo organization](https://docs.coveo.com/en/185/) [domain](https://docs.coveo.com/en/2819/) or [resource](https://docs.coveo.com/en/2820/).
Grantees of a privilege are allowed to perform related operations in an organization.

More specifically, a privilege is granted to a Coveo access token that allows its owner (or owners) to perform these operations.

Don't confuse privileges with [permissions](https://docs.coveo.com/en/223/).
