# Facet
A {doctitle} is a [search interface](https://docs.coveo.com/en/2741/) component that allows the end user to refine a [query](https://docs.coveo.com/en/231/) by selecting [metadata](https://docs.coveo.com/en/218/) filters.

A facet is said to be _dynamic_ when it leverages the [Coveo Machine Learning (Coveo ML)](https://docs.coveo.com/en/188/) [Dynamic Navigation Experience (DNE)](https://docs.coveo.com/en/2907/) feature.
