--- title: Manage user notifications slug: '1911' canonical_url: https://docs.coveo.com/en/1911/ collection: manage-an-organization source_format: adoc --- # Manage user notifications As a [Coveo Administration Console](https://docs.coveo.com/en/183/) user, you can configure email notifications to be informed when certain operations occur in your organization. For example, you could subscribe to receive an alert when a source is in error, when a change is applied to your Coveo license, etc. These periodical customized reports should allow you to watch closely certain events, errors, or changes in your organization. User notifications are sent to you only. If a coworker wants to receive the same information, they must configure their own user notifications. To receive the notifications as JSON content or as a post to an endpoint, [create an organization notification](https://docs.coveo.com/en/1583/) instead. ## Add a user notification . In the Administration Console header, click the user menu (icon:user-circle[alt=user-circle,width=16]), and then **User notifications**. . On the **User notifications** page, click **Add notification** or click the notification to edit, and then click **Edit** in the Action bar. . Under **Name**, enter a name for your user notification. . Under **Description**, enter a description for your notification. . In the **Notification frequency** dropdown menu, select the frequency at which you want to receive email notifications. . In the **Email content** section, specify the operations of which you want to be notified: .. Under **Resource types**, select the [resource types](https://docs.coveo.com/en/1660#resourcetypes-array) in which you're interested. .. Under **Operations**, select the [operations](https://docs.coveo.com/en/1660#operations-array) of which you want to be notified when they apply to the selected resource types. .. Under **Results**, select **Failed** to receive only notifications for failed operations, or select **All** to be notified of all operations. . Click **Add notification** or **Save**. ### Example 1 You want to be notified immediately every time a [source update](https://docs.coveo.com/en/2039/) fails. You configure a notification as follows: **Name**: `Source Update Fails` **Description**: `Failure to refresh, rescan, or rebuild` **Notification frequency**: `Live` **Results**: `Failed` **Resource types**: `Sources` **Operations**: `Refresh (source)`, `Rescan`, and `Rebuild` ### Example 2 You want to receive a daily report of changes occurring on the [**API Keys**](https://platform.cloud.coveo.com/admin/#/orgid/organization/api-access/) ([platform-ca](https://platform-ca.cloud.coveo.com/admin/#/orgid/organization/api-access/) | [platform-eu](https://platform-eu.cloud.coveo.com/admin/#/orgid/organization/api-access/) | [platform-au](https://platform-au.cloud.coveo.com/admin/#/orgid/organization/api-access/)) page. You configure a notification as follows: **Name**: `API Key Changes` **Description**: `Any change on the API Keys page` **Notification frequency**: `Daily` **Results**: `All` **Resource types**: `API keys` **Operations**: `Activation`, `Addition`, `Configuration edit`, `Deactivation`, and `Deletion` ## Disable a user notification When you want to stop receiving email notifications without deleting the corresponding notification configuration, you can disable it. On the **User notifications** page, click the notification to disable/enable, and then click **Disable** in the **More** menu. ## Delete a user notification On the **User notifications** page, click the notification to delete, and then click **Disable** in the **More** menu. ## Required privileges The following table indicates the privileges required to view or edit elements of the **User notifications** page and associated panels (see [Manage privileges](https://docs.coveo.com/en/3151/) and [Privilege reference](https://docs.coveo.com/en/1707/)).
