# Pre-push extension
A {doctitle} is a Python script saved in a Crawling Module folder which is applied to [items](https://docs.coveo.com/en/210/) crawled by a [source](https://docs.coveo.com/en/246/) before they're pushed to the cloud.

Don't confuse this with [indexing pipeline extensions (IPEs)](https://docs.coveo.com/en/206/), which are applied after items are pushed to the cloud.
