# Custom data
{doctitle} is a [Coveo Analytics event](https://docs.coveo.com/en/260/) field that can be used to include additional data.
This data can be leveraged in [Coveo Analytics](https://docs.coveo.com/en/182/) dashboards and reports, and can also play a role in training [Coveo Machine Learning (Coveo ML)](https://docs.coveo.com/en/188/) [models](https://docs.coveo.com/en/1012/).

Arbitrary `customData` key-value pairs can be included in an event for reporting purposes, but a search event `customData` typically also includes key-value pairs which are equivalent to those included in the corresponding [context](https://docs.coveo.com/en/1345/) Search API query parameter.
