Connect your Salesforce organization to a new or existing Coveo V2 organization. . Instruct Coveo to index your Salesforce content and optionally content from other repositories. ## Default configuration New organizations are automatically created in [Coveo](https://platform.cloud.coveo.com/) ([platform-ca](https://platform-ca.cloud.coveo.com/) | [platform-eu](https://platform-eu.cloud.coveo.com/) | [platform-au](https://platform-au.cloud.coveo.com/)). . Using an administrator account, log in to your Salesforce organization where the application is installed, if not already done. . In **Setup**, search for and select **Installed Packages**. Next to your Coveo package row, select **Configure**. . From the **Current Region** dropdown menu on the right, select a [primary deployment region](https://docs.coveo.com/en/2976/). Available options include **United States** (default), **Canada**, **Europe**, and **Australia**. . Under **Configure Coveo for Salesforce**, either [create a new Coveo organization](#create-a-new-organization) or [link to an existing one](#link-to-an-existing-organization). > **Leading practices** > > * You should invite another user to act as a System Administrator in your Coveo organization. > > * You should also [create a dedicated Salesforce crawling user](https://docs.coveo.com/en/1052#prerequisite-create-a-dedicated-salesforce-crawling-user). ### Create a new organization > **Note** > > If you already have a Coveo trial organization, you can skip the steps described in this section and go directly to [Link to an existing organization](https://docs.coveo.com/en/1153#link-to-an-existing-organization) to learn how to link the Coveo trial organization to your Salesforce environment. . Select **Create a New Coveo Organization**. . Select either the **Pro** or **Enterprise** plan. . On the **Select Your Edition** page, click **Start Trial**. . Under **Organization Name**, choose a name for your Coveo organization. . Under **Select the Salesforce sources that you want to index**, select the Salesforce objects you want to make searchable. . Acknowledge that you have read and agree to the [Terms of Service](https://www.coveo.com/en/support/terms-agreements) and [Privacy Policy](https://www.coveo.com/privacy) by checking the box. . In the newly opened **Allow Access?** window, allow Coveo access to your Salesforce organization by selecting **Allow**. After a few seconds, you will be directed to the **Coveo for Salesforce Getting Started** page. Your Coveo organization is now created. ### Link to an existing organization > **Leading practices** > > * If you have already purchased a Coveo license, you must first [add your Salesforce user as a member of your Coveo organization](https://docs.coveo.com/en/1821#add-members). > Once added, proceed with the steps provided below. > > * During the authentication process, we don't recommend using the [**Log in with email**](https://docs.coveo.com/en/1697#logging-in-with-email) option to [log in to Coveo](https://docs.coveo.com/en/1697/). > Use the Salesforce [identity provider](https://docs.coveo.com/en/242/) instead. > > * When you have more than one Salesforce environment, ensure that your Salesforce sandbox organization is connected to your Coveo [sandbox organization](https://docs.coveo.com/en/2959/), and your Salesforce production organization to your Coveo production organization. . Select **Link to an existing organization**. . In the newly opened **Grant Privileges** window, select the organization you want to link and click **Next**. . Allow Salesforce access to your Coveo organization by selecting **Authorize**. . In the new **Allow Access?** page, click **Allow**. The window should close itself. . You will be directed to the **Coveo for Salesforce Getting Started** page. Your Salesforce organization is now connected to your Coveo organization. > **Note** > > While your Salesforce organization is connected to your Coveo organization, you still need to [index your Salesforce content](https://docs.coveo.com/en/1052/) in the Coveo [index](https://docs.coveo.com/en/204/). ## What's next?
